Masteka is a 37-meter superyacht, designed by Dubois and built by Monte Fino. Onboard Engineering was asked to carry out the mid-life and DNV inspection on a pair of Cat C32 1625hp mains and Onan gensets. The mains had a complete top-end overhaul, with injectors, turbochargers, and cylinder heads replaced with Cat Reman and all measurements recorded. The gensets were completely rebuilt, with the engine blocks being honed and measured. One genset received new pistons, and the other was re-ringed and rebuilt. Both gensets had a complete overhaul of the fuel system. Once rebuilt, they were run in on a load bank to confirm operation. The main engines had some nice cosmetic upgrades as well, with the aftercooler housings polished, and all removed parts painted in 2-pack in our spray booth. The vessel was extensively sea-trialed before it departed for the Pacific Island and America's Cup being hosted by New Zealand in Auckland.
